What to Experience ?
- Day 1:
Dhangadhi - Silgadhi. We will start our drive to the hills of Far West from Dhangadhi at 8 o clock in the morning. The road goes through some of the steepest hills. We will stop at Dadelduhra to have a lunch. We will continue our drive along the Seti River. By late afternoon we will reach Silgadhi where we can visit the Saleswary temple and have the rest . Overnight at the guesthouse in Silgadhi.
- Day 2:
Silgadhi - Jingrana From Silgadhi it is a gentle ascend through rough motorable road to firstly Baglekh (about 4-5h hike), where we will have our lunch . After lunch the hike will go up to Jingrana. (1-2h hike) Overnight at the home stay or camping in JIngrana.
- Day 3:
Jingrana—Khaptad National Park (Bichpani) The trek on this day leads on the trail through subtropical forest of pine, continues with the subalpine forest of fir, hemlock, oak and rhododendron in the higher area. April is the best time to see red rhododendron (laliguras) or pink rhododendron (setiguras) in blossom. In April and may you can enjoy being in a hilly forest impregnated with aromas of BADU tree flowers. Don’t forget your binoculars, as on the way you can see plenty of birds which have their home in this forest. Hiking upwards we will reach midway in 2,5 hours where we will have some rest. Reaching Bichpani in the afternoon we will have lunch. Today we will stay for a night in Bichpani. The trek goes in the middle-hills starting from 2250m and going up to 3103m. Trail is a combination of the gentle paths with the difficult stretches like a steep stone staircase. 4-5h trek.
- Day 4:
Bichpani—Khaptad NP After breakfast in Bichpani we will continue our hike in the Khaptad National Park through subalpine forest. On the way you will be able to see the rests of snow melting into the small rivers and springs. After 2 hours we will reach Buki Dahi, the place where the open green meadows – the jewel of the national park starts. The meadows are covered with colorful flowers. The further path goes on the stoned path through grasslands and pasture (Patans – Nepali name). On the way from Buki Dahi we will make two stops at the small temple of Sitapaila and a temple of three rivers – Tribeni temple. Here you can swim if you want. (5h trek) Overnight at the guesthouse.
- Day 5:
In the Khaptad NP Possible activities in the Khaptad: --Hike to Khaptad Daha lake, small lake, which could be reached in 1,5 hours. -- Visit of the Khaptad baba Ashram. The Khaptad national park was named after him. Khaptad Baba moved in the area in 1940ies to meditate and worship. He is known for being an doctor and researcher. Overnight at the guesthouse
- Day 6:
Khaptad—Chainpur Today we will go to the North by descending to Bagjang. As a today hike takes around 8 hours we will start a bit earlier. If we are lucky we will have a chance to see some foxes, jackals or even black bear. After 2 hours we will reach place called Lokhoda with beautiful green pastures, fields and gardens with apple trees. At this northern side there is amazing scenery over mountainous chain. By noon we will be in the village called Meltadi, where you will enjoy our food. Afternoon hike is going through beautiful and friendly villages of Bajhang. For sure on the way you will have to admit at least one invitation for a cup of tea or a cap of fresh yogurt. From Tamil there is a pick-up service up to Chainpur. After 20min drive we are in the place with the greatest view over Himalayans. Today trek goes in the middle-hills starting from 3103 and descending to 1048m. Trail consists of the long descending stretches. Average walking is 8-9 hours a day.
- Day 7:
Chainpur—Dhangadhi Today morning we will start our ride back reaching Dhangadhi by evening. On the way you can enjoy the beautiful sceneries and amazing view at Himalayans. (12-13h drive) Overnight at the hotel in Dhangadhi.
